Alwass ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Alwass platform accessible at alwass.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us: account information (name, email, password, role type); profile information (work history, skills, education, resume/CV, portfolio links, profile photo); job and marketplace activity (applications, projects, proposals, messages); billing information (processed securely through our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers); and communications (support tickets, survey responses). We also collect usage data (pages viewed, features used, search queries, time spent), device data (IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs); and a coarse device and network signature recorded when you create an account and when you sign in -- a shortened form of your IP address and a one-way hash of your browser and device details, which cannot be turned back into your original details and never includes your browsing history outside Alwass, and cookies (see Section 7).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to create and manage your account and provide platform features; match job seekers with relevant listings and employers with qualified candidates; process payments and send billing communications; send transactional emails (account confirmation, application updates, new messages); send marketing and product update emails, which you may opt out of at any time; improve and personalise the platform through analytics; detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse -- this includes comparing the device and network signature described in Section 2 between accounts, so that one person operating several employer or agency accounts under different company names can be identified and reviewed by a member of our team; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only: with employers/recruiters when you apply for a job (your application and profile are shared with the posting employer); with clients/freelancers when you engage on the marketplace; with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements; when required by law, court order, or to protect user rights and safety; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account at any time from Settings → Privacy. After deletion, we may retain anonymised data for analytics and legal compliance for up to 90 days. The anti-fraud device and network signature described in Section 2 is kept for 12 months after your last sign-in and is then deleted. It is visible only to Alwass administrators reviewing a specific account for suspected fraud; it is never shown on your public profile, never shared with employers or other users, and never sold.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access a copy of the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate or incomplete information via your profile settings; request deletion of your account and associated data; receive a machine-readable export of your data; object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing; and request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances. 7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences (including dark mode), and analyse usage. Essential cookies are required for authentication and security and cannot be disabled. Preference cookies store UI preferences such as theme. Analytics cookies help us understand how users interact with the platform; you may opt out in Settings → Privacy.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and role-based access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication when available.
9. Children's Privacy
The platform is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
