Therapists help people move, work and communicate again after injury, illness or disability. Hospitals, rehabilitation centres, sports clubs, special schools and private clinics in Nepal hire them. The therapy professions
Physiotherapist. Treats pain, injury and movement problems with exercise and manual therapy.
Occupational therapist. Helps people manage daily life and work after illness or with a disability.

Respiratory therapist. Supports breathing care, often in intensive care units.
How therapists qualify in Nepal
Physiotherapy is studied as a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), with diploma-level programmes for physiotherapy assistants. Occupational and speech therapy have fewer training places in Nepal, so many practitioners train abroad. Therapists register with the
